The Implementation of the New Urban Agenda in Egypt

The NUA lays out standards and principles for the planning, construction, development, management, and improvement of urban areas

In the framework of joint cooperation between the United Nations Information Center (UNIC) and UN Habitat, a seminar titled “the implementation of the New Urban Agenda (NUA) in Egypt” will be held to discuss the NUA that was adopted in the conference of HABITAT III – Quito, Ecuador with the engagement of the Arab Republic of Egypt. The Conference is now widely considered to be among the most inclusive and innovative United Nations conferences. The NUA lays out standards and principles for the planning, construction, development, management, and improvement of urban areas.

The NUA incorporates a new recognition of the correlation between good urbanization and development and in this context, we would like to invite you to attend the seminar to be held on Wednesday 26th of July 2017 at Grand Nile Tower Hotel, Garden City, Corniche El Nile at “Akhnaton” meeting room from 12:00 noon to 3:00 pm. It will discuss three main topics: Urban Challenges, Informal Settlements, and Development of the New Urban Communities.
