On June 9, Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa and Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov met with Ambassador of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to Russia Grum Abay Teshome at the latter’s request.

The officials considered topical issues related to further development of the traditionally friendly Russian-Ethiopian relations. They confirmed the two countries’ shared commitment to building up cooperation in the political, trade, economic and other areas.

They also exchanged views on the African agenda with a focus on the situation in the Horn of Africa and the distribution of Nile water. They expressed a shared point of view that regional disputes should be settled solely by political methods on the basis of a constructive dialogue.
