President Danny Faure has sent a message of condolence to His Majesty Felipe VI, King of the Kingdom of Spain on behalf of the Government and people of the Republic of Seychelles, following the deadly terrorist attack in the city of Barcelona which claimed 13 lives and injured many others. 

In his message President Faure unreservedly condemned acts of terror which targeted the defenceless in order to spread fear and hatred.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Spain and the bereaved families at this time. The inclusive nature of the Spanish people, their indomitable spirit and the joy of life particularly celebrated by the Catalans will ensure that this dark period will be vanquished," said President Faure.

President Faure reiterated that the perpetrators be swiftly brought to justice and suffer the full consequences of their heinous actions.
