ZAGREB, Croatia, October 4, 2017/APO/ --

Oradian (www.Oradian.com), the fintech company from Croatia, claimed its position as a leading technology provider with both a first-place finish in the European FinTech Awards (http://APO.af/cYedco) competition and a nomination as a Top 100 African FinTech company.

The win at the European Fintech Awards recognises Oradian as the European leader in Innovative Banking Software designed for microfinance institutions (MFIs) and microfinance banks (MFBs).

At the awards event held in Brussels on 27 September the finalists and Europe’s most prospective tech companies from each category went head-to-head in a pitch competition. Based on Oradian co-founder Julian Oehrlein’s pitch, the jury named Oradian the winner of this year’s European FinTech Award.

For Oradian’s impact in the African microfinance industry, Oradian has been shortlisted by a panel of fintech judges as a Top 100 African FinTech company in the race for the African FinTech Award. The winner will be decided at the Finance Indaba Africa expo in Johannesburg on 13 October.

With operations in five countries, including Nigeria, Ghana, Liberia and Malawi, Oradian reached a new milestone of serving over one million end-clients globally in June 2017.

Commenting on the recognition from the African FinTech community, Croatian co-founder Antonio Separovic said, “We judge our success by how well our customers are doing. As they succeed and grow, Oradian succeeds and grows. This nomination, being in the African FinTech Top 100, is a reflection of the outstanding work our team and our community of customers is doing every day.”

Commenting on the award, Oradian’s Strategic Partnership Manager Bénédicte Godefroid said, “Participating in the FinTech Award competitions is a great opportunity to meet and connect with other fintechs that strive for financial inclusion like us. Our Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) is designed to enable MFIs to improve their efficiency but also to easily integrate with other fintech services in the digital ecosystem. Partnerships and collaboration will drive us towards more and better financial inclusion.”

The European FinTech Award marks Oradian’s ninth award in three years, including recent awards from Cashless Africa: The Best Microfinance Enabler Platform and the Microfinance Empowerment Recognition Award. Oradian is poised to expand its operations and on-the-ground teams in Sub-Saharan Africa.
