Media Meeting to Present the Sustainable Transport Master Plan for the Northern Regions

WINDHOEK, Namibia, June 1, 2017/APO/ --

The Sustainable Transport Masterplan for the Regions Omusati, Oshana, Ohangwena and Oshikoto aims at addressing transport deficiencies and proposing a set of measures to improve urban and rural transport systems. 

During the first phase in 2015, a scoping study was successfully completed and approved by the Steering Committee on 12 November 2015. The Master Plan has been developed in the subsequent phase 2 of the project in 2016 and 2017. 

It is now the intention of the Minister of Works and Transport, Hon. Alpheus !Naruseb as well as other stakeholders to present the Final Master Plan to the media on the 5th of June 2017 in Oshikango.

The development of the Sustainable Transport Master Plan was supported by German Cooperation.  

All media are welcome to be present at the presentation ceremony at 9:00 on the 5th of June at the Princess Hotel in Oshikango followed by a press conference, and report about these important milestones towards the achievement of Vision2030.
