Kenyan Ministry of Health (MOH) meets with Development Partners to achieve Universal Health Coverage

In a bid to improve access to quality healthcare for all Kenyans, the Principal Secretary State Department of Medical Services, Eng. Peter Tum, met with representatives from Development Partners in Health/Kenya (DPHK) including Mr John Kuenle from USAID, Mr Andera Thomsen from UNFPA, Dr Abdourahmane Diallo from WHO, Jane Chuma from the World Bank, and Mona Almudhwahi from WHO.

The meeting aimed to address the issues surrounding the country’s healthcare system, including health financing, human resources for health, health products and technologies, and the need for digitization.

During the meeting, the PS applauded the continuous engagement of the DPHK in supporting healthcare programs in Kenya.

He also presented the Kenya Kwanza government’s agenda to achieve the Afya Bora Mashinani Universal Health coverage under the four key pillars of health financing, human resources for health, health products and technologies, and digitization.

The PS was joined by the Acting Director General, Dr Patrick Amoth highlighting the government’s commitment to working collaboratively with development partners to achieve the health agenda.
