KAMPALA, Uganda, August 8, 2017/APO/ --

The Foreign Minister of the Federal Republic of Germany, Sigmar Gabriel, will arrive in Uganda tomorrow. He is going to travel to Arua to visit the Rhino Camp Refugee Settlement (Ofua Zone) in the morning. During his stay there, he will view a water system project run by Malteser International, greet staff and students of a Primary School and hand over some sports equipment to the school. He is going to meet representatives of the German Development Cooperation sector. Later he is going to be introduced to the Uganda-South Sudan Cross Border Radio Network supported by Deutsche Welle Academy, before returning to Entebbe.

In the afternoon he is meeting the President of the Republic of Uganda, H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, and Uganda’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Sam Kutesa, at the State House in Entebbe.

Through this visit the Federal Foreign Minister commends Uganda for her refugee policy which stands out as an exemplary unique practice and deserves Germany’s support and recognition. The Minister would also like to encourage Uganda to continue engaging strongly in the East African region.

The Federal Foreign Minister will travel on to Juba, South Sudan, on 10 August 2017.
