Coronavirus - Kenya: COVID-19 update (2 February 2021)

The cumulative tests so far conducted are 1,192,605

Fortunately, there are no reported deaths and therefore our cumulative fatalities remain at 1,766

NAIROBI, Kenya, February 3, 2021/APO Group/ --

153 people have tested positive to the disease, out of a sample size of 3,922 tested in the last 24 hours. The total confirmed positive cases are now 101,009. The cumulative tests so far conducted are 1,192,605. From the cases 123 are Kenyans while 30 are foreigners.

Nairobi county has 93, Mombasa 13, Kiambu 8, Nakuru 6, Turkana 5, Kajiado 3, Kisumu 3, Taita Taveta 3, Busia 2, Nandi 2, Trans Nzoia 2, Uasin Gishu 2, Kirinyaga 2, Elgeyo Marakwet 1, Embu 1, Kilifi 1, Machakos 1, Makueni 1, Meru 1, Murang’a 1, Samburu 1 and Siaya 1.

54 patients have recovered from the disease. 35 from the Home-Based Isolation and Care while 19 are from various health facilities. Total recoveries now stand at 83,990. Fortunately, there are no reported deaths and therefore our cumulative fatalities remain at 1,766.

There are 471 patients admitted in various health facilities countrywide, while 1,471 are on Home Based Isolation and Care. 27 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 12 of whom are on ventilatory support and 15 on supplemental oxygen.

16 patients are separately on supplementary oxygen with 12 of them in the general wards and 4 in the High Dependency Unit (HDU)
