Ambassador Nikki Haley met with President of the Central African Republic (CAR) Faustin-Archange Touadéra on March 16. As CAR continues to heal from its recent conflict, Ambassador Haley reaffirmed U.S. support for the country as long as its government remains committed to maintaining peace and democracy and helping its citizens. Ambassador Haley and President Touadéra discussed the United States’ commitment to the UN Mission in CAR (MINUSCA) and how to make it as efficient and effective as possible.

Ambassador Haley also noted the United States’ willingness to work with CAR on reforming its armed forces and developing its economy so the Central African people can live in peace, security, and prosperity.
