The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to Host the 66th Session of the WHO Regional Committee for Africa

The WHO Regional Committee for Africa is the Governing Body of WHO in the African Region comprising Health Ministers from 47 African countries

The Sixty-sixth session of the WHO Regional Committee for Africa will take place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from 19 to 23 August 2016.

This annual meeting of the RC will be attended by higher officials from WHO and government of Ethiopia, health ministers and delegates from Africa region, senior WHO executives and program leaders; representatives of the United Nations system, bilateral and multilateral organizations, nongovernmental organizations, and teams from ministry of health.
The WHO Regional Committee for Africa is the Governing Body of WHO in the African Region comprising Health Ministers from 47 African countries.

WHAT: 66th session of the WHO Regional Committee for Africa (RC 66)
WHEN: 19-23 August, 2016
WHERE: United Nations Conference Center (UNCC), Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
WHO: Health Ministers and other Delegates from 47 countries in the WHO Africa Region will participate in the RC 66 Meeting. Speakers will include H.E. Dr Kesetebirhan Admassu, Minister of Health of Ethiopia, Dr Margaret Chan, Director-General of WHO, Dr Matshidiso Moeti, Regional Director (RD) of WHO Africa Region. H.E the Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Mr Hailemariam Dessalegn will address closing remarks.
WHAT ELSE: 
PRESS BRIEFING: Briefing sessions will be arranged for media on the 2nd and 4th day of the meeting from 8:00am to 8:30 am at UNCC small briefing room (SBR)
PRESS CONFERENCE: Press conference will be held on the closing day, 23rd of August, 2016 at UNCC Large Briefing Room (LBR) after the resolution has been made.
