Seychelles High Commissioner Accredited to South Africa

High Commissioner Rose-Quatre is the fifth High Commissioner to be accredited to the Republic of South Africa, with residence in Pretoria

VICTORIA, Seychelles, February 6, 2017/APO/ --

High Commissioner Mrs. Marie-Antoinette Rose-Quatre presented her credentials on Tuesday 24th January 2017, as High Commissioner Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Seychelles to the Republic of South Africa, to H. E. Mr. Jacob G. Zuma, President of the Republic of South Africa.

In extending warm salutations from President Danny Faure to his counterpart, High Commissioner Rose-Quatre went on to recount on the well-grounded, mutually enriching and fraternal ties which the two countries have nurtured over the years and continue to enjoy. 

The Seychelles Government’s interest to further consolidate on this bilateral cooperation with the Government of South Africa in diverse sectors was also imparted unto the President.

“As we enter the eve of celebrating the silver jubilee of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our two countries, I am confident that Seychelles and South Africa can together reach even greater milestones towards the betterment of the lives of our peoples and respective governments, at the bilateral level as well as within the diverse multilateral platforms through which we interact”, noted High Commissioner Rose-Quatre.

In his speech to the newly accredited Heads of Missions, President Zuma noted that “your presence here today is confirmation of our resolve to continue strengthening relations that exist between our respective countries and people… I would like to encourage you to explore more areas of cooperation for mutual benefit, between South Africa and your respective countries”.

High Commissioner Rose-Quatre is the fifth High Commissioner to be accredited to the Republic of South Africa, with residence in Pretoria. 

Note:

  • Seychelles and South Africa established diplomatic relations on 4th November 1993, even if cooperation between the two countries predates the said establishment; 
  • High-Commissioner Rose-Quatre formed part of a cohort of fifteen new Heads of Missions who presented their credentials to President Zuma;
  • The High Commissioner was accompanied at the ceremony by her Spouse Mr. Ronny Quatre and Mr. Terry Rose, Third Secretary.
