Minister Radebe to Address the Launch of Ivili Loboya Textiles

The textile industry is one of the strategic platforms that can bolster trade of South African products

Minister in the Presidency for Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation and Chairperson of the National Planning Commission, Jeff Radebe will deliver the keynote address at the launch of Ivili Loboya textiles.

Ivili Loboya is Africa’s first cashmere fabric manufacturer located at Ibika near Butterworth in the Eastern Cape Province. Ivili produces high-end handwoven and knitted natural blended fabrics for décor, upholstery and fashion apparel.

The textile industry is one of the strategic platforms that can bolster trade of South African products. The National Development Plan (NDP) identifies trade as one of the key interventions to enhance growth of a more dynamic and inclusive economy. Ivili Loboya has a great potential to contribute to key imperatives of NDP Vision 2030.  

Ivili’s inclusive value chain model also draws on the well-established agricultural industry in South Africa known for consistently generating high quality, environmentally sound products for international markets.
