Minister of Foreign Affairs of Zambia visits Finland

On the agenda in the discussions are the relations between Finland and Zambia and peace and security issues

In 2016 the value of Finnish exports to Zambia totalled EUR 35 million

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Zambia Harry Kalaba visits Finland on 17 May and meets Timo Soini, the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Finland. On the agenda in the discussions are the relations between Finland and Zambia and peace and security issues. Minister Kalaba also meets the Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Kai Mykkänen to discuss the development of commercial-economic relations between the two countries.

At the Crisis Management Initiative CMI Minister Kalaba meets President Martti Ahtisaari, the Chairman of the CMI Board.

For Finland Zambia is a long-term development cooperation partner, with a rapidly growing economy. Zambia aims to be among the medium-income countries by 2030. In 2016 the value of Finnish exports to Zambia totalled EUR 35 million. In Zambia Finland supports private sector development, better productivity and job creation for young people.
