Meeting between Laurent Fabius and his counterpart, Hon. Hannah Tetteh

ACCRA, Ghana, October 6, 2015/APO (African Press Organization)/ --

French Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development Laurent Fabius met with his Ghanaian counterpart, Hon. Hannah Tetteh, on October 5. The Minister was accompanying President John Dramani Mahama on his visit to France. 

Both ministers met in similar circumstances last year. This conversation is part of the annual political dialogue between the two countries.

The ministers worked on strengthening the bilateral relationship, whose quality they applauded. They reviewed the regional situation in West Africa and preparations for the Paris climate conference. Ghana, one of 146 countries that published its national contribution, is working with France to ensure that the conference is a success.

They lauded the signature of a reciprocal agreement on spousal employment of diplomatic and consular staff. 

This meeting is part of President Mahama’s visit to France. On Monday 5th of October, after meeting the French President Hollande, President Mahama held discussions with the Francophone business community through the Francophone Business Forum. The President participated to UNESCO and OECD events before heading to the town of Bordeaux, in the South West of France.
